Aloha way brothers, For some reason I cannot PM any one,when I click their name all that comes up is what they have been watching. Anyone know why this is happening because it has never happened before. Could it be my browser.Aloha,Kokua
In the blue area at the top of the page click on the word INBOX.
Next click on the tab that says COMPOSE (put the curser a hair below the tab)
Type in the name of the user you want to contact and send a message.....
Howzit stingray, OK I see how that will work but what ever happened to just clicking a users name and hen their page came up there was a link that said send private message, did we ose that with the new website format. Like the saying goes " If it ain't broke, don't fix it" . Aloha,Kokua

Howzit afoaf, Now what is strange is that " send private message" doesn't show up on my computer. I think it's the browser, I am using the latest version of. I internet explorer. I know the Mozilla browser seems to work est with the new Sways but I don't prefer using it, I can post and reply but the private message thing is a quirk.Just checked my account and even my picture doesn't show up now and it always has before, strange I guess I have to agree with Wood Ogre. Yesterday while talking with Proneman and Keith M this came up and we all agrred that Sways is not as user friendly as it was before and that is one reason I don' post asmuch or spend as much time on the website. Also noticed a few months ago that when you click a user's name to view his personal info ("view user profile" ), you get a page where the user's picture and info flashes for a second on the left side, then "my recent activity" shows up and stays on the screen showing what that user has viewed/written, etc. No user profile. Are you able to pull up any person's user profile info or does it do the same flash for a sec deal and disappear? I finally gave up deciding it was operator error.

flashes so quickly you cant even read it then it's gone...
i figured it was getting sussed out so never said anything but it's still going on after several months...
any ideas on how to fix this?

Mike Paler posted somewhere that the new system works best using Firefox. It’s a free download and may solve some of the profile problems described here.

I can access the private message feature three different ways…
- click the envelope icon below a user's discussion forum post
- click 'Members' tab and search for user
- click your 'inbox' tab to reply or open PMs that are in your mailbox
Ha, well don’t use Google Chrome browser if you want smooth operation…
Swaylocks for me looks like it’s back in the '80s.
Nothing works, everything is extremely basic.
All I can see is when a person joined, number of posts and number of points!
And the home screen shows “Active topics” that havn’t been active for months.
It kinda funny.
The whole quoting system in posts is pretty difficult, including quotes from several different people is a mission.
Now using the search box…arrrgh

i apologize if my post came across as complaining. my thinking was along opposite lines, i figured you do so much alread and you were plenty busy and didn't need me bothering you for something so trivial. when this thread came up, i figured someone might be able to help so i posted. i want to tell you that i've never been anything but grateful to you for this site and if i've ever came across as ungrateful, i apologize again... i'm sure most of us here realize that you put a lot of your personal time and effort into this. thank you.
BTW, i am using explorer and from reading John's post, maybe i should look into that free download.
Mike , Just a statement, not ment as a complaint! Cant change browsers because internet explorer is what my wife wants ! No point in starting a fight with her. I bought her a brand new computer last week and it's set up the way she wants it. Got it set up just in time as her old one died totaly today. (was expecting that, its 8years old and I have had to start it with a boot disk for the last 2 weeks) . She needs the computor for doing her school work. I only need it to play on !! again thanks for all you have done and your right ,Free is Free , . We are really getting a good deal for Free !! Wood_Ogre

One thing I’ll throw out - You can have more than one type of browser on your computer… How do you get Mozilla anyway - you go there on explorer or what ever, down load, then use. You can still have explorer there for you wife or who or what ever.
PS - Mike - this has been the most life altering “free” thing I’ve ever been part of, so bless you for all you’ve done.
