Problem with solid color resin panels

I’ve done 4 boards now with solid color resin panels with pretty good success. The only problem I’ve occasionally had is a rippling effect that occurs sometimes and seems impossible to fix. I’ve added a ton of pigment to the gloss resin, strained it and have been adding a lot of MEKP to get it to go off fast. For example, using 32 oz of resin for the deck of a board, I added 30cc of MEKP in an 80 deg F room. The black pigment looked perfect but then as the resin kicked, it started to ripple showing the white board underneath and by then the resin was kicking so I couldn’t fix it by adding more. Am I adding too much MEKP; too little? Frustrating to say the least. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is this being applied to the deck?

Resin that is applied too thick will cascade from its weight and thickness.

This is common on decks because it is domed. Gravity in action.

Try Cobalt.

Just a couple drops.

Work fast.

Cross stroke to evenly apply resin.

Use a little Surfacing agent.

Don’t over brush it. If you do, it will pull off all the wax.

Either Gloss immediately, or sand and clean up before next coat.

Good luck.

Dont kick your resin so fast.

A slow kick will allow it to settle.
