So my Probox boxes and side bites came in. I ordered what I thought was a complete installation kit, but only got 1 template and nothing else.
So is the router bit something I can buy at a hardware store? What type of bit is it?
Otherwise I have to make another order and pay shipping again … not a huge deal but seems kinda silly if I can avoid it.

maybe they’re sending the install kit separate from you fin order?
My install kit came with all kinds of goodies including the router bit, jigs, clay, keys, printed out instructions, boxes, inserts, stickers…probably even forgetting something
I think I mistakenly ordered a single jig instead of a complete kit … ordered with some other stuff from Fiberglass Supply.
Looks like probably a flush trip type router bit, with a bearing slightly oversized from the cutter?
Oh well I’m not ready to install yet anyway. I’ll just wait until I get what I need instead of doing it half-baked.
Aloha EndlessWinter:
The router bit needs to be 1/2 wide by 3/4" deep with a 5/8" diameter bearing on the top.
If you had ordered a kit you should have got everything including the router bit, for a thruster kit this would have been three boxes, three jigs, router bit, inserts, key and covers and putty.
If you need any help getting the missing pieces just let me know, mahalo!

Hi EndlessWinter, Sorry you are having some problems, please call me at the Factory Monday between 10 am to noon western time at 310-530-1383 and I will take care of the matter. Looking forward to talking to you. Mahalo,Larry
Oh no problem, Larry … I probably ordered the wrong item from FS. But I’ll give you a call tomorrow and figure out what else I need.
I’m stoked about the product though … they look solid, and most of all I like the idea of having the ability to make adjustments.
I won’t be putting another set of FCS plugs in any of my personal boards with something this much more versatile available.
So does anybody pour their epoxy all the way to the deck with these, for extra strength, or is that just overkill? I always did that with my FCS so they wouldn’t rip out as easy. Of course the plugs just broke if you whacked a fin anyway so not much gained I guess …
The install guide says 1 oz resin per box and some roving strands all around the cavity. I also scrape away a little bit of foam just under the skin along the whole box cavity to get a bit more resin under the skin. I used these quantities with Resoltech epoxy and solid as a brick s%^thouse, the templates are also resin dams so you get a super clean install with little finishing required. KISS at its best.
