Ive had a few talks with Junod, since he shapes across the street from my backyard shed.
He uses a variation of a subtle single to double concaves on most of his single fins.
tri plane hull as he would call it.
I have a 7’1 Junod custom pumpkinseed singlefin and it’s one of my favorite boards in my quiver right now. Picks off waves easily. Pumps down the line really well. Carves nicely on the face. Fun to take the high line and let the thing really get some speed. Doesn’t work very well in dumpy beach break (tail kept spinning out w/ the wide tail and singlefin combo), but for lined up pointbreaks, the board really takes off. If you’re expecting a hull type board, this is NOT it. Works well in smaller surf, but really starts to show its colors when it gets around head high. I highly recommend this board. It’s such a fun ride!
