Thanks for all the views. I did ask and they were not certain but said “I think the Qcell is silica fragments, our ceramic bubbles are actual spheres which make it lighter”. Not sure at all now! I will just stick with Qcell. thanks again

PS, just found this stuff http://www.cfsnet.co.uk/acatalog/Glass-Bubbles-500gm-Pack-DGLGBU_500.html - which is a lot cheaper than Q-Cell so wondering if its a suitable replacement??
All those materials are hollow glass bubbles. Higher quality ones (Q-cell, 3M…) are whiter and more calibrate with better consistency. Cheaper ones are often slightly grey and with bigger density tolerance, but they work too. Add some cabosil (ie aerosil) to mix if you want a mastic that stay in place.
