Hiya, not again ur saying, looked back at pervous post and not much on quad cants. just about to put the plugs in for my new bing darma copy, got all the fin dims good but was wandering on the cant of fronts and rears, was thinking of 6 degrees fronts and 4 degreews rears, wot u recon? And when glassing in the plugs how do u compensate for the concave in the bottom when trying to set plugs using a cant template. A good shaper here on the coast does his at 5.75 both fronts and rears, not to name drop but NPJ.
This works for me
Run a straight edge from rail to rail you may have to pack it at the rails if you have some V then I set a sliding bevel to the cant I want push it against the fin and tape fin to the angle. Little spring clamps and packing are probably better than tapeing.
Why dont you use ProBoxes, that way you can change the cant by switching the inserts. They have 0, 4, 6, & 8 degree cant inserts that you can experiment with to find your perfect combo.
