Totally agree - imo usually when people say they hate or don’t like quads they haven’t experimented much with them. Very small changes are the difference between sucky and awesome, and any difference in placement can (will) also change best fin. Most quad haters probably don’t know that tri vs quad on the same board will likely want different fin cants (really matters w FCS, where cant is in the box). None of which is likely news to many here.
Quads are nice - my last board 7’4" x23 x3 1/4" - has 5 fin boxes so I have the option to go quad or other configurations. I last set it up as a twin with a nupster which for that board worked better
