question for Bing

Bing, i just bought your book wich is incredible by the way!! i read the thing in a couple hours!!! cool stories…

i have a couple question about the way you made boards at the time. it says that you didnt sand the gloss coat but just polished, did you do that on you fins also? (there was a picture of a kid foiling a bunch of fins)

for the figure 8 stringer inlays, how deep did you routed out the board? can you explain a little bit of the technique, we dont see that anymore in production boards, would be great to try.

thanks and again your book is awesome and a great source of inspiration!!

read your book to fast… its all in there, 1/2 deep glued with resin…

cheers!!

Not sure I’ve heard of this one. What’s the title? Is it listed as “Bing Copeland”, author?

Sammy, it is called:

Bing Surfboards—fifty years of craftsmanship and innovation” by Paul Holmes:

You can find it on the classic Bing site.  I don't have it but it looks to be along the lines of the Greg Noll "Art of Surfboards" book.  Maybe Santa will bring one.
