question for Greg Loehr (additive f)

greg, i’m using additive f for the first time. i’m having trouble keeping the resin on the rails at the deck hot coat stage. any suggestions? is this normal? did i put too much in? i put 1.5 times the amount suggested on the can because of the heat. other than the weave showing on the rail, the hot coat looks fine. i’m taping off the deck-side of the rail when i hot coat the bottom to compensate for the thin hot coat on the deck. thanks in advance.

Additive F does thin the resin a bit andd in summer rails can get a bit thin. Double coating like you metioned above works fine. Using a fine fabric like 4 oz. on the outside of your laminate also can solve the problem.

thanks for the response, the problem was more pronounced on the longboard which had a 6-4 deck. the shortboard w/ the 4 oz deck was smoother.
