Question for Tom@Daum

Tom,My question for you is regarding center fin boxes. Any interest in Red-x producing a center fin box in the same configuration as the tri fin system you already produce? I would think that if you made one in the same style box, only longer you could have an alternative to the status quo ( not to slight the Bahne box system). Benefits that come to mind include quicker fin system instellation ,re; 2+1 fin combos that are commonly used on longboards, funboards, and eggs, and single fins. Your feedback is appreciated, Best Regards, SK

Your feedback is > appreciated, Best Regards, SK SK, We have plans to introduce both a box with more range and one with no range. We have also made a mold base that is capable of producing fins up to 7-1/2" in depth. However, it is very expensive to produce molds. Inorder to keep the doors open, we manufacture many other components that are used in the surf industry and medical industry. We would love to dedicate 100% of our time to expanding the fin program. But, with the amount of sales volume we have we can only dedicate about 40% of our time to it. After three years of manufacturing Red X we are seeing a significant amount of market acceptance. Hopefully, we will have enough growth to afford more attention to making alternative components to expand the system. But, we can’t neglect our other customers along the way. I do know of a few people that have cut the end of the boxes off and installed two boxes end to end with a long board center fin. I have a McCrystal Bonzer that has a 6-1/2" center fin in a standard box. So, the shorter version answer to your question is yes as time and money allow. Thanks for the support!

Do you have distributors in Europe? I ordered some stuff from Seabase, UK the other day and they told me they were propably going to have another system soon, but wouldn’t say which. Red X maybe? Oh, yeah and they stopped carrying FCS so I have to buy FCS plugs at $5 a piece at the local surfshop. $30 plus fins for a board, arrrrggghhh! regards, Håvard

Larry Block was just in Spain, France & England up until last Tuesday. I know he spoke to Sea Base while he was there. But, I do not know how soon they will be picking up Red X. You can contact Alder at 56-683-444. Let me know if I can help any further.
