questions for loehr part 2

ok- so i think the idiocy of mikia’s post stole the spotlight from my questions, so id appreciate any help- what type of buckets should i use to measure epoxy amounts? does anyone have any tips for wetting the laps with epoxy? what is the best way to finish an epoxy lam/hotcoat? is there any info you think would be helpful regarding epoxy laminations (thats not in the archives?) thanks again john

sorry- i just read part of gregs response- if anyone has more advice, id appreciate it

John: Below are some minor points that I have found to be useful. When squeegeeing out the excess resin remove it from the squeegee after each pass otherwise it will just get transferred back on to the board. The canoe builder Ted Moores recommends using a cardboard frozen juice can with a 3/4" slit cut down from the top edge. Vinegar can also be used to clean up. When spreading the resin I find a paint brush works well if used gently. Save a little resin in the pail to add to starved areas rather than trying to pull excess to the spot. Use a flat angle when squeegeeing - almost drag your thumb. Hope this helps some. Good luck. Patrick
