questions, light glassing for xps..weight

so i am almost done shaping a 8ft HP pintail mal out of xps, i am wanting to glass the board light and was thinking of maybe 1x 4oz bottom and 1x 6 top deck with not deck patches or 4 oz deck with a small patch.what you guys thoughts. i am not that worried about pressure dents but i am not that keen on folding it in half on a heavy drop or shut out.

i shaped an 9'6 noserider with same xps and did 1x4oz bottom and 6+4oz deck and have had hardly any pressure dents. I have been surfing it alot the past 2 months.

i know there are a few guys out there that have done a lot of these xps boards and i was hoping to see what you guys think the best glassing schedule would be.

 i have a 1/4 ply stringer for strengh as it is 8ft. Its 2 3/8 thick with thin rails and glassed on single fin ( not 100% sure on glassed or box fin yet depends on weight) other than that i am trying to keep weight right down on this one .

am imput will be good can post pics if it helps

You will snap it pretty quick with that light of a glass job. Why are you trying to go so light? Double 4 deck and single 4 bottom with the under layer wrapped half way around the rail is the lightest I would go. If it was my boar I would prob do a 6+4 deck. The longer the board the easier it is to snap it.

yeah - post them pics!!

I do a fair amount of comp longboards and some xps so
I always do the order card for the glass shop with a full 4 x 4oz
deck and a 4 oz. bottom. Sanded finish, no gloss and they
come out pretty light but strong. Since this is xps, you will be
using epoxy resin which is lighter so do a 4 x 4 or a 4 x 6 and
you should be plenty light. A good cure time should make it
strong. My pu boards don’t ding up too much and last
a while. Just my 2c…
PS: keep that sucker out of any sun…

You could try putting chines in the deck to strengthen it against snaps without adding extra layers of glass. Keep the chines out of the tail if you want flex there. In future I'd suggest adding more stringers, this is a 6'1 xps glassed 4+4x4, the stringers are chambered to keep weight down, surfed it hard and it works well.
