Questions on a midlength

Hi everyone, I read this board somewhat regularly even though I’ve never attempted to shape my own board, preferring to use a local shaper I’ve dealt with for years (good quality and prices) Support the small businesses! Anyway, I thought I would tap the knowledge on this board before talking to him. Im looking at getting a mini-longboard shaped (about 8’4") (something along the lines of Channel Islands wave hog model)and had questions about dimensions, thinking 17 1/2 x 22.5 x 14 and 3" thickness, small squash or round tail w/ a 2 +1 fin set up. Do these make sense ? Any suggestions on rocker or bottom configuration (concave, vee …?) Any suggestions on possible blanks to use? I would like to have a better understanding before talking to Tim about this. BTW, the board is for use on the East Coast (Outer Banks) in waist to slightly over head beach break. I’m 43 and about 185 lbs usually ride LBs or a 7’6" hybrid in juicier stuff. Any suggestions/comments will be appreciated, thanks a lot. Keep surfing>>>>>> Jimmy the Saint

Speaking for myself, lately Ive been trying to keep things as simple as possible. I have an 8’6" mini log that has a very slight nose concave, flat middle section, with a moderate “v” in the last third (the v peaks just ahead of the fin, a 2+1 set up) that works just fine.
