need some input here…i’m going to be driving a rented car from north florida to miami. i wanted to stop off in melbourne and pick up a 10_1Y green from Clark. all i have is some FCS soft racks. turnpike speed 60+ for about 4 hours. i’ve never transported a blank on the roof. GO or NO GO??? seriously.
i say just crank the racks down as tight as you can w/out damaging the blank and go for it, you should be fine. definitely bottom up, i’d prob go tail forward. throw in a roll of duct tape just in case.

Hey Ramon no worry. The guys in the warehouse are used to stuff like this and will help you out, offer em 5 bucks or so and they will get you going. They once helped me cram 15 blanks into a small Mazda truck…I drove 400 miles on the interstate with no problem.

P.S. a couple of burgers might get you a rare Clark Foam t shirt, you have to beg, cry, and negotiate.Good luck Bro.
Board bag? gotta buy one anyway. I think they’ll charge you $12.00-$15.00 or so for a box, good for covering the floor for quite a few glass jobs. Ramon here is a thought. If you are going to be in the Jacksonville area you might want to stop and see Clay Bennett in Atlantic Beach. He sells Walker blanks and does really great retro stuff, super nice guy.He has a website and posts on Swaylocks as C.D.B.
that would have been my first choice, i’ve visited his website and seen the beautiful work. i also saw a thread a month ago or so that mentioned he was a source for walker blanks, and i’ve been really curious about those. i’m leaving for tallahassee in an hour, and when i return i have to go straight to orlando to spend one night…so jax is not a possibility. thanks for all your help, you’ve gone above and beyond!>>> Ramon here is a thought. If you are going to be in the Jacksonville area > you might want to stop and see Clay Bennett in Atlantic Beach. He sells > Walker blanks and does really great retro stuff, super nice guy.He has a > website and posts on Swaylocks as C.D.B.
