Thanks all for such a swift and informative response… Resinhead you are right I did indeed forget to include the board thickness, which is 3 1/8. I made some marks and just went ahead with my planer and started and to cut my bands. I took it VERY slowly and kept my planer on its lowest so as to avoid a huge error. I did my very best to keep both rails in symetry and do exactly the same passes/pressure/angle on both. My rails turned out more egged than round and more 60/40 than 50/50… I feel I over foiled the tail a little but apart from that I was very happy with the final result.
I come from a construction background and whilst I do not want to get caught up in the numbers, I still feel the mumbers are very important. I would love to just shape a board only using my eye and " feel " but I think one needs to learn the rules in order to break the rules… I feel I did lots more work with my planer on this board that I would have normally relied on sanding blocks etc for, and this felt like a huge move forward.
I definitly still struggle with rocker and foil… I feel like ordering my blank with changed rocker would be a huge help ie more tail and less nose for a noserider… Im straight into another 9’6 noserider which is great as I feel like I can take the knowledge from this shape and get right into it… Thanks again for all your advice and knowledge . Adios.
