rail design - how hard up front?

Hi - just putting the finishing touches to my latest big boy + I’m thinking about the rails up front. Lots that I’ve read here says that hard all the way up is the way to go - more release, less catching and faster. Now - does this just mean that the transition between bottom and the tucked edge should be crisp or am I missing something?

yep youve got it … a crisp discernable edge , tucked under … itll help with rail catching problems and getting the board on the plane ealier , when i get a chance ill post a few pics with the shaping lights on the rail so its clear …

you may have finished it by then ???

I’ve always like crisp, tucked, edgy rails all the way to the nose.

All you need is a certain amount of skill (which you have), to NOT dig the front edge, to stand in the right spot on the board, and hard front rails contribute to a crisp, early planing, quick response, good forward riding trim adjustment board for decent surfers.

Tail riders, no problems.
