Rail style help

Hello, Im new to surfing as well as shaping. Im building a 5' 10" Grain Surfboards Waka http://www.grainsurfboards.com/boards/the-waka/ which is a Steve Lis inspired retro fish

I am just about ready to shape the rails....Not sure really style of rail do go with or if mixed is better, what styles to go with..

Any recommendations ? I want my board to move fast. I dont expect or want to turn at too hard of an angle. Just more smooth fast top to bottom type surfing.

Thanks in advance.

I made my Grain with the down rail…easy to nail and they haul ass!

Down rails are easy to shape for a first timer and were typical for a Fish from the '70's.  If you tuck the rail under a little it will make it more modern and manueverable.  Make the bottom edge in the tail area turned down hard with a hard bottom edge.  That will work for speed and up and down the face surfing.  You'll have to learn to pump a board of this type.  By "pump" I don't mean the so-call "Hunington Hop".
