How does the ranking system work on Swaylocks? how long before i’m not a “newbie”… also, what’s the order of rankings?
No idea!!!
But they’ve got it right, I’m addicted!!!
it’s all in the FAQs
Thanks for the lead… i checked it out… and for all those too lazy to go look, here it is:
<<<<< Quote Taken from FAQ’s >>>>>
Newbie, Enthusiast, Addict, Veteran and other forum statuses have nothing do do with a persons skydiving skills or abilities! Your status is automatically determined by the number of posts you’ve made to the forums. It is NOT etiquette to make frivolous and useless posts just to drive up your post numbers. Below are the different statuses that have been uncovered so far. There are more but we’ll wait till someone gets there!
0 => newbie
15 => user
50 => journeyman
100 => member
200 => enthusiast
400 => addict
800 => barnacle
1600 => veteran
3200 => master
6400 => carp

would people ACTUALLY do that?!..what losers!!!
(p.s. - 370 more post’s 'til i’m a “veteran”)
I looked in the archives and YES people have done that… recently its Callaway thats the culprit of useless clutter in the posts.
O BTW… this is my 50’th post… YAY
Howzit Scott, I checked his previous posts and not one of them adds to the forum, maybe a question or 2 but mostly negative responses to posts. What you probably didn’t know is back a couple of years ago Mike changed the website and we all started back at zero posts because we had to reregister. Those of us that have been on Sways for a while don’t expect new comers to add much since most are coming here to learn, but we also don’t appreciate them posting negative thoughts either. If he keeps on the same path the moderators will deal with him.Aloha,Kokua
I tracked my own rating and even responses count as posts. try it. just type any response and look at your post # before and after. also, thanks for noticing that “he” will be delt with. I, like everyone else here, am just trying to learn. I think everyone should take your attitude and be calm about things. no need for sarcasm or rudeness. Mahalo
well, sure…it counts posts, not topics started. and now i’m adding this post to tell you what you already know.
as for “callaway”…i’d suggest that he stick to golf, but to be perfectly honest i wouldn’t want to have to deal with a prick like that on the golf course either. some people just should be allowed to speak (or type)…ever. fortunately for us, we can’t be responsible for the petty actions of some fool with his head up his a$$…we can only be responsible for ourselves…and throughout my time on sways, i must say that most everyone conducts themself with the utmost respect, candor, and professionalism. bravo, guys (and girls).
FISH STICKS!!!
(i’m just bored…gotta boost that post count!!!)
TARTAR SAUCE!!!
Howzit soulstice, Speaking of fishes Stevie Lis just got back from a mexico trip and stopped in S.D. for a day or 2 and he got over 20 orders. I hear there are a lot of them in the water these days.Aloha,Kokua
just a random commment but… why is kicking sharks a bad idea?
just a random commment but… why is kicking sharks a bad idea?
I would also like to know that.
Whils’t on topic I apolligize for some of my posts in the past, when I read them I think ‘geeze, I’m an idiot’ my intention was good. i spose i’ve just matured the art of forum posting now.
Also I know of a “surfing” forum who’s main aim was once excessive posting.
The reason I say Kicking sharks is a bat idea is because I did it once when i was paddling into a wave. I kicked a 6 foot sand shark in the head. needless to say, it wasn’t happy. luckily I was already getting up when he tried to bite and ended up biting through my leash and knocking me of. then it scurried away. Scared me half to death.
your shit loves mothers?..that’s a little creepy, dude.
just an expression… i would replace it with “Scared me really bad” but doesnt have the same gravity or flair.
