dont you just love the modern day glass jobs 4x4x4. today surfboards are pretty much throw aways after 12 months. i never touch 4oz cloth for that very reason. 6oz all the way. yeah its slightly heavier but my 6’4’ shorty doesnt have that many dings after a year of use.
so who made it?- what type of shape is it- i noticed on their webpage a magic fish and a mini magic fish. sounds interesting.
This board is a “Magic” model .It is a custom great board. It was copied from a board I had from the 70’s . I asked for it to be REAL thick and that might have been the problem . I caused them to use such a thick blank that it got overshaped . Or maybe the glasser goofed . Anyhow They went way out of their way to take care of me and I am very happy with all the people there.I just wonder if there is anyone who has made boards who has never had a mistake . I bet not.
an alternative to 4oz or 6oz is 5oz- ask for it! on your next custom- also a good lamination with all 4oz AND a gloss coat(just sanded-save the polihed finish for pretty color work), works well.
