re : gloss coating fins ....

Just a few questions on gloss coating fins [which I have been doing over the last few visits to “Grant’s garage”]

…what do you guys use for gloss coating fins ? If small brushes …what sort of width ?

Secondly, how do I stop getting “milky looking” gloss coats ? [clear fins, polyester resin being used …]

Thirdly, the other problem I get is what I’d call “pock marks” [for want of a better term]…indents like tiny craters in my gloss coats .

Any suggestions / advice on what may be causing this, and the solution[s] would be MOST appreciated !

thanks !

ben

The pock marks maybe from to hot of a mix .

G’day Ben,

I used to use the same brush. On fixed fins do the fins while doing the deck, saves drips going down onto the bottom.

The pock marks are generally due to some sort of contaminant, fingerprints will do it, dirty work environment, might be something floating around in the air landing on the surface.
