re: the eighties thruster.:later eighties.

I’ve recently made another quiver addition. another 80s thruster, however this time its more like an 89.

I really like my new board with 4 channels and a double concave between the them. It flys.

I’m interested in stories or any infomation about the boards being ridden in this time. around Wave Warriors 3 and later on Bunyip Dreaming etc.

I really like the channels on this. Like Col Smith says in Fantasea “there really stable, no looseness in the tail” “they suck on to the face and really hold a rail”. So far i’ve ridden the board in both Mushy closeouts and perfect points. Of course they ride alot better in clean points but eithen in crapy surf you can really get the board to do what you want it to.

It really stable but turns so easily. very low volume and a narrow nose and double wing sqaure tail. 19" in the wide point. It sits underwater when you sit on it but catches waves with ease.

Fun, Fun, Fun!

how wide are the nose and tail , and the pod , [ie: tail , tip to tip] please , Josh ?

Much rocker ?

…mine were pretty flat , and also 19" wide . I had a 6’4 Rusty’ , a 6’6" Blaxell" , and a 6’8 “Gecko” [all at different times , unfortunatelt ! …I would like those as a three board thruster quiver TODAY , if they had lasted that long]

Oh , and a 6’ 6 “Hot Brewz” too , but this was more a 1991 board…

ben

out of those three or four , I liked the Blaxell 6’6 " the best …a nice , basic, flat bottomed , glassed on fins [they all were then !] pintail .

Hi Ben,

5" Pod, Tail 10" up 13", nose 15" down 12 1/2" Fairly flat in the nose with some tail kick.

cheers Josh !!

Do you have a shot of the deck , and the whole board please ?

I’d also be interested to see what logo he had on his boards back then …
