You've probably seen or heard something similar but expressed in other ways. For example I had a Judo instructor who was big on 'closing the circle'. Which to him meant, 'when your [Judo] technique became a matter of instinct'.

 

Just something about the clarity of this summary which I had to share. Oddly, I think a lot of the signatures that people have used over the years on Swaylocks' have sort of condensed it down to a phrase. Which of course is neat; I guess I just like the deconstructed form.

 

Oh yeah, one more thing. Honestly try to rate your current skill or understanding of anything that is important to you on the scale... its clarifying, if nothing else.

You know when you've reached unconcious competency when you've achieved mastery of  uchimata.

 

What's the shaping/surfing equivalent? - continuous rocker/bottom turn?
