I am a hobbiest shaper that spent my early days making plywood skimboards. Staring at the inside of an airplane wing I got an idea. With a little research and a lot of bloody fingers, I now have a SUP that won’t delaminate, ding, or harden in the sun. It takes a very different set of tools and very different set of skills but it can go down rapids without a care and you can stick a fin wherever you want.
holy crap, i just got this idea the other night!!! and i thought that nobody had ever done it, and everyone would think it was crazy!!!
just out of curiosity, how much does it weigh?
just to be sure, your talking about an aluminum surfboard right?
btw i love the riddle style to this post.
It weighs ~32 lbs. It won’t corrode and it has more life than the old hollow boards. My shape is a little punt-like so I call it the “Runabout”. I do plan on selling these things but craigslisters aren’t biting. Maybe I can sell them out in front of Moon Doggies in Pismo.
pics please!!!
