Ill dig up a better shot for you to get your head around .
hi there Ray !
i was just wondering …
have you had problems with colour streaks in your pigment lam jobs ? [i seem to , from time to time]
do you strain it through a stocking or anything , prior to lamming ?
our west aussie pigments are the consistency of toothpaste , and are sold in jars …how about yours ?
cheers mate !
ben
Hi Ben ,
Pigments used are paste…sold in jars…I did not strain or filter anything. It’s recomended by many respected board builders to filter the resin…
Colour streaks in your pigment lam job?..Well…can’t see it in the photos…
…yeah, look hard enough at the finished product and you can see lines from the squeege. The untrained eye will not see it…
…Word on the street is that Chipfish needs to glass a board…been a while…
Red boards are faster!
Stingray…
How about Red AND GT stripes?
I can feel the G-Force already…
Josh
edit- I should mention it’s not my board ( although I wouldn’t mind owning it). Here’s a link -
Nuclear…
Say no more man…thats unreal!
Hyperspace.

Martin Worthington does Grant’s sprays so you know you have quality.
Dang, that came out red. When the red-green color blind guy can see the red, its red. It’s gonna be sooooo fast. Mike
Dang Ray,
That’s some red. A real beauty.
Materials please. I’m assuming poly because of the color and the description sounds poly.
The resin on this board is poly. The stuff smells…
I considered doing it with epoxy but I’ve decided to not mix up my chemicals too much.
EPS blanks get epoxy resin…
Polyurathane blanks get polyester resin…
This board is a US Blank. I’m told the US blanks are very close to Clark Foam. I’ve heard some bad stories about Clark blanks glassed with epoxy. ( bad rumors???)
Hi Ray,
My last Clark Blank I used FH epoxy with a blue tint. I surf the board all the time and it’s held up great. I’ve done a couple of others over urethane, too. I wouldn’t hesitate to use epoxy over urethane. I do little patches to the tips(fish board) using polyester with no problems, too. Not a large sample size under my belt so take it for what it’s worth. It’s just resin. Isn’t it? Mike

I like red pigment, but red paint can work nicely

Thanks to all swaylockians!!
Stringerless eps with epoxy and double 6oz

This board is VERY fast.
Interesting theory about red boards being faster…if only it were true.
Through extensive poly-chromatic research, a leading team of east coast surfers has determined that red is one of the slower colors of the spectrum when used for surfbourd design. Red might be sexier and therefore, might make you “faster” with the ladies. It has also been determined that when arranged on top of your car (upside down, fins forward) it has shown to be more aerodynamic of a color, in the water, it is exactly the opposite, especially if the water you are surfing in is blue.
In the future, if you are looking to go surfbourding faster, I suggest you paint the board yellow. Think about it: blue (water) + yellow (bourd) = green (go).
Yours,
TS
Is that Billy Hamilton in the background ?
Faster for sure …
One of my all-time fave shots
I wonder if he’s still truckin’ after all these years ?
