I usual place it so that the low area between the arch bar and the kickpad are centered over the center fin neck. Tack a pencil and mark where the corners end up on the board. Also mark the pad where you need to cut back to get access. If the pad is to small to get near the side fin box necks. We provide soft mini-stomp pad covers with removable center inserts.
thanks a bunch…i’m really stoked on red-x, they’re becoming really popular now too, which i’m glad, because fcs has taken a bad path in my opinion…so do i just use like an exacto knife or something?

Yeah, an exacto-knife will work just fine. Just be careful what you are cutting on. Thanks for the support.
Yea RedX is the best system and people are finally noticing. RedX didn’t have to pay people to say its good, the good product does it its self. Another really good tail pad to use it the Powder Keg Luke Munroe model. That pad is sweet. It has spaces for the RedX in it and its my favorite pad. The sticky bumps pads are kinda hurtin, but the Powder Keg ones are better than the gorilla grip and right with Astrodeck. Give them a try
Tom, why don’t you guys make your own traction pad with the notches pre-cut? You could put a big groovy X on it too. Personally I like wax.

Personally I like wax. trifins, Larry Block is the U.S. distributor for Powder Keg and was John Dahls original partner in Sticky Bumps traction. Consequently, Powderkeg and Sticky Bumps do make traction specifically for Red X. The traction market is already a fiercely competative market as are fins and leashes. So, Larry has chosen not to compete against his own partners for traction. But, Larry has shown me some pretty cool Red X Wax.

HGS is proud to say after a positive trial period we have switched to the RED X system for all of our custome and shop boards. We have gotten a great response from our customers and have by far gone down the right path, with adding these to our boards. We use the same glass shop as Channel Islands (Haakenson Fiberglassing) and kept seeing all of these CI’s going out the door with this great looking fin system, and decided to check into these guys, they offer a great selection of fin templets to choose from and are very strong and have not had any problems with them breaking on us -not once. It has definantly been a good decision for us. Thanks to the guys @ Red X You can count on us staying with you guys for years to come. Sunny
Thanks for the support Sunny. We are just starting to get some fun clean south down here today. Hopefully, you can find a spot that works like maybe on base?
