Would it be a bad idea to use my “Fred” tool to knock down the outermost edge that’s left around the perimeter of the deck (after cutting in the tucked under bottom rail and after rail-banding). It seems like this would be an easy and more accurate way to finish the rails. Whadda ya think am I on to something or just on something? Thanks.
That’s what I do, then hit it with dragon skin… but I’m no expert
Actually being a novice I didn’t know you weren’t suppose to use fred on the top side of the rail. It seemed to work ok for me on my first couple of boards when I only used a surform to shape the blank. I now have a planer and the rail bands seem to be to steep for the fred to line up right. Just my experience.
