Resin amounts for longboards?

To all: I am glassing a longboard for the first time (not my first time shaping one) and i was wondering how much resin i can expect to use on a 10’0"x 23.5"x 3" with a 6oz bottom and two layers of 6oz deck? How much lam do i need and how much hot coat? Thanks.

Lot of varables come into play such as where are you glassing, tempeture of the room, and how much catylst you use so the best way is to overestimate the amount and dial it in as you go: start w/about 11/2 gallons and use about a qt. and a half on the bottom if you run low before you do your laps add a little more. Having done that you can now better estimate how much to use for the deck(should be around a tad over a 1/2 gallon) and that will get you started and once again if you run low add resin before doing the laps. For hot coats useally a pint will do a 10’ side but more or less will depend on the conditions.

what is a good ratio of resin to catalyst for a longboard , so you have enough time to get the whole board w/o the resin starting to gel? temp. around 70 with normal humidity.

just wanted to say thanks for the help and to take a minute to thank everyone who reads and posts messages. swaylock’s is the best resource for novice shapers like me who are almost isolated from the shaping world. sounds corny but swaylock’s is really so good that i had to say something.

Swaylock’s forever.
