To anyone who knows how, I could use your help. I’m about ready to glass a board and have a color scheme in my head. However, my experiments with acid splash on scrap foam haven’t been what I wanted. The resin colors diffuse into the foam leaving areas of color with no design to it. What is the method to get those wild, mixed up designs and intense colors? My explorations into the archives have given me only general information. I would greatly appreciate some specific, step-by-step info. Thanks guys. Doug
the cloth will hold the design if you let the resin soak in some before hard sqeeqeeing.
are you testing directly on the foam w/o the cloth?
Austin, that’s the idea. I did another experiment: took Richards advice and let the color soak in for a minute or two, then squeegeed on the the clear lam resin. The result was pretty good. The colors didn’t diffuse nearly as much. Is your method to first do the design colors, then the clear? Your green board looks great. Thanks, Doug
ok doug. This gets a bit tedious but it can be done. First thing i did was a green resin tint. Then i took 3 batches of color. black red yellow. i kicked them one at a time and fast using lam resin. i also drizzled the pigmented resin on thick. You might wanna think about using hotcoat cause i actually had to sand down all the lumps. Then hotcoat and definately gloss coat. It makes the board a bit heavier but definately got the results i wanted. Austin
just trying to post the pic.
