Resin Containers

Hi, i’m new here. i couldn’t find an answer to my question by searching so here goes. i purchased 4 litres of laminating resin the other day which comes in a big tin. My question is the resin is very hard to manage in such a large tin. what kind of smaller containers would be safe to divide my resin up into some smaller more managable portions?

My second question is, can i mix in my uv cure to the resin at the time of purchase? how long will it last if i was to do that?

thanks

Regards,

Darren

Isnt 4 liters like 1 gallon?  Just get a Pump and pump what you need.

You can mix the uv from the getgo and as long as its not exposed to UV light you are good for quite a while, months.

thanks for your reply, yeah 4litres is 1 gallon, sorry i’m new to this. normally i just do repair work on boards for family and freinds… i’m used to buying resin in 1litre containers. i’m worried when i start glassing a board i’m going to end up with resin all over my floor. where would i buy one of these pumps?

regards

Darren

The ones we use are from a Restaurant supply, but lots of places sell gallon style pumps.

Things of this nature. get the locking kind to where when you push down you can turn it and lock it. keeping the airflow out is a good thing.

sorry for my stupidity, my resin came in a tin like below.

so i’m guessing i need to purchase a bottle as well that i can put one of those pumps on.

I use empty landrey soap jugs, the kind with the spout that drains back into the jug. It takes alot of water to rinse these out but they really work well. I buy resin in 5 gall pails then offload into one of these a gal at a time.

Never seen resin come in a paint pail before. Yeah I can see your problem. Big funnel and laundry jugs are good as long as they are solid colored.

Thanks guys, thats exactly what i wanted to know… it must be a aussie thing every batch of resin i have ever purchased has always came in paint tins.

Cheers

Darren

I would buy A metal “F-Style” container of your own and ask them to fill that.

hey resin drums

do you know a good supplier for those containers
