resin drips

whilst doing the balsa inlays i dripped a few drops of white resin onto the racks and forgot to clean it off then moved the board onto it now i have a patch on the board. anyone got any tips to remove this off the foam without ripping a hole or sanding a hole? thanks paul

you could try…Taping off the resin area and sand very carefully with a flat block, leaving no foam around the resin exposed, so if you do slip, the foam will be protected (hopefully). After that, untape and give the whole surface of the board a cleanup sand. if you just pull up the resin, it will take a small bit of the foam, but you could fill those little holes with spackle and give the whole board a finish sand. http://groups.msn.com/thegrasshoppersurfboard/shoebox.msnw

How about a sharp hand plane blade removed from the plane? Set on the foam sharp side down and use the long flat to guide you. Must be razor sharp and careful not to dig in.
