Anyone having any problems with The Resin Resarch PH epoxy? I have been getting a fog in the hot and gloss coats. The laminate seems to be fine. I started using Carbon fiber and the PH resin basically at the same time. The first board I used the RR2000 for lam and hot coat, had no problems. Figured I would use the RR PH for the gloss coat, since it is suppose to be clearer?, but ended up getting a slight fog throughout the board. The fog is appearing when i am spreading it out on the board. I am using additive f and accelorator. I tried not using accelorator and only a little Add F but got the same result. Just went to hot coat a carbon/kevlar board im working on, and it fogged so i removed the resin with accetone. Anyone haveing simalar problems, or know what I am doing wrong? thanks
I use it with no problems on tints lam. Addf give a milky look to mix but disapear when curing if solid are well spread. Let mix degaz after mix and before spread. Epoxy like to foam when mix. Hot resin less. Vaccum degazer is a must…
I did some more reading on the PH resin and it said something about it being a whiter resin, since I am having zero problems with RR2000 I am guessing the white or whatever in the pH stuff is creating the fog look over my carbon fiber.
Thank you for the degassing tip, it lead to some good research for improving on my glassing skills.
