resin research/surf source question

Is the resin sold by Surf Source made by Resin Research? I’ve been trying mightily to contact anyone at Resin Research, to no avail, and I thought I saw a post saying somewhere you could get RR resin at Surf Source. They have their own name on the bottle, although it also has “2000” in it. I called there, but the guy didn’t have a clue who made the resin. Anybody know?

thanks, bruce

I used SurfSource’s resin on my last board and 3 skim boards. It has the surfsource label on it. I can’t belive no one at RR picked up. message GregLoehr here on sways about resin research.

i’ve never had any problem getting in touch with Greg or Sam when a question came up…try 'em again, and don’t be shy…they’re friendly.

Surf source is NOT a RR product. The fact that they use the product code 2000 is an attempt by them to trade on our products good will. It isn’t ours, it’s also not the same as ours. They have one resin and one hardener which, IMHO, is a bit slow for surfboards. They also don’t have any of the additives we provide. As for the phone, yu can contact me at 321-223-5276. Sam will be back tomorrow or the day after. He’s been in Indo … poor guy.

Heres 1 more problem with the surfsource resin… they give you a little bit too much hardener. is like 1 gal resin 5/8 gal hardener. It messed up my hotcoat a tad. I will be using RR next time.

A word about the 2000 label, I think that is really deceptive and they need to change it. Greg, can we order from the number you gave? or do we have to go through an authorized dealer?

Yeah, that kind of thing is really rough on a fella. Give him all my best regards, please.
