I’ve gone through about 10 gallons of Resin-X.  I definitely love to surf on the stuff, but it is more difficult to work with.  It’s not for the meek.  It kicks fast, especially in a humid climate.  It’s expensive, so it’s hard to sell.  It pressure dents more under foot.  And I find that I’m chasing around air bubbles in the lam and in the hotcoat.  That said, it’s TOTALLY worth the extra work to me.  I use it on all my personal boards.  It makes a very lively board.  I find that it makes an EPS board feel like a PU board, but with much more lively flex and all the benefits of EPS.  It eliminates the “corky” argument in my mind.  It eats up vibrations in the water and gives a much smoother ride.  EPS/epoxy almost feels dead to me when I switch from a Resin-X/EPS board during the same session.  I still enjoy PU/PE and EPS/epoxy, but all of my favorite boards are Resin-X.

If you want to try it I would recommend starting with the extra slow.  It’s more expensive, but it will give you the time you need to work it into the cloth and work out all the dry spots and air bubbles.  Call Matt and he will help you work through your first board.  Matt is a great guy and his customer service is second to none.
