i am going to start glassing soon, so what kind of respirator mask do you guys use and how much and where can i get them from. foam ez are like close to thirty i think and the ones at the depot i am not sure about there quality.
i use a 3m. got it from HD/Lowe’s. it was about $25-30. for the most part, they should all do their job, and if they aren’t working right, believe me you’ll know. the most important thing is that it’s comfortable for you to wear.
Howzit turbohog, soulslice hit it right on, 3M mask with 6001 organic vapor cartridges and pre filters is the way to go. I’ve been using them for the last 6 years and will continue to use them.Aloha,Kokua
yeah i figured i would know if i was using the wrong one once i started. but then it would be to late the fiber glass would go off and i would be as high as a kite.
about how many hours can you use one before you need to replace the cartirdge.

The accepted guideline is to changes the cartridges once you start to smell any substances. I do not know of a an approx. hours guide.
The type I use come in different sizes. Try a couple on by rolling your neck around and saying the alphabet - test with something harmless that smells before using in a real working situation; i.e., perfume, food, after eating spicy food, etc. No gaps should develop letting the smell.
