Restoration

Im thinking of restoring an old and very worn Con The Ugly that was given to me. Ive shaped a couple of boards but have never tried to restore one. Can someone point me in the right direction. Im looking for a web site or to talk with someone who has restored boards. Thanks.

Try THE BOARD LADY, Good tips there.

go to “BINGS” website theres a couple there start to finish

I’d be more than happy to give some advice if you want. Have a look at the link below. There is a link to the Bing restoration page there. I did the restoration on the red Bing.platty

That would be great! I guess my biggest question is how to get the old fiberglass off. Ive read you can cut through the glass and then peal it off. One guy said he cut it all around then hooked up an air compressor to the halves and popped it of that way. If there’s a way to email you that would be great.

Wavewright,

pm me if you want to chat about your project. I think I can get you started in the right direction. But there’s way too much info to post here.

Hey Wavewright. Can you post some photos please. How bad is it? Stripping the glass off would be a last resort. If the glass job is still in fair condition, without any major delams, you may not need to strip the board. Just a heavy sand back to the glass and re gloss or pigment coat it. After repairing all the dings.platty.
