Rich Harbour's Chambered wood construction bolg

Rich has been documenting his progress during the construction of one of his 50th anniversary boards. Good stuff with lots of pictures. Two pages.

Apparently I can.

Hey Spud,

thanks for the link to that blog, I got a real kick out of that. Fantastic work he’s doing there and realy nicely photographed. That curly redwood is utterly beautiful (a bit steep for my pockets though at 840 dollars a lump.) The pics of his number 20,000 are stunning.

Thanks again for posting the link.

red wood is a tempting consideration to curly or not to curly.

wow whaddan adventure…

…ambrose…

I have grazed the harbour chambere pics several times and will do so again. Being a Wood_Ogre I love that wood. Have admired Brewers chambered and Hamiltons Koa chambered forever. Eye candy right up there with Sam Maloof. Then Paul Jensen came along and turned the world upside down with his hallow wood boards. And now the chambered don’t meet the mark. Yes Rich is without a doubt a master surfboard shaper and looks like his wood working skills are OK. But Paul has taken it all to a higher leval. Just think of how many Hallow wood boards could be made from that fine Redwood. Having done solid balsa, chambered balsa and Pauls hallow wood. There is no going back Pauls method is by far a beter use of wood and so much more functional too. Pauls boards have 2 lives, first as a surfboard and someday they can be retired to the wall hanger. My kite fish has hundereds of hours in the water now (very hard use) and has no intentions or retiring to the wall! For Rich and other chambered board shaper-Repent!!! Change your ways !!! If you do Pauls hallow wood method you will never go back to chamberes!! You will get a lot more miles from your wood, and you wont have to heft all those big planks around . Ahui Hou - Wood_Ogre
