Nice webpage, looks like a cool event, thanks for posting. Hope we get some photos of the event afterwards!
imight have to drive down for this, sounds like fun.
That’s in my neck of the woods, thanks for the heads up,
I hope to make it there …
Are you the same Mike Daniel that is scheduled to give the first presentation of the day??
If so, is it a photographic presentation??
Yeah, that’s me opening the presentations in the clubhouse. I’ll be showing photos of our living reef and the green turtles, stone crabs, sea anemones, etc. that call it home.
thanks, Mike for the heads up.
Everyone should know that besides being a long time contributor and a world class smart ass here on Sways, he is a very strong activist for clean water and clean beaches here on the East Coast. He has continued to work tirelessly on issues important to all of us who value what it means to swim , fish and surf in the Brevard Co area. We owe Mike a debt of gratitute. Come out and support this event.
You forgot healthy young man
Coil Persons …
and a bit of an accomplished photog as well… (his photos from past postings)
And apparently hangs out with cute girls half his age.
Mike,That’s great, I really do appreciate the efforts of the folks who have dedicated themselves to the preservation of our oceans beaches and our lagoon…
Calling it an uphill battle would be an understatement, especially with the current political climate we find ourselves in today…
My wife has a masters degree in costal zone management, she worked for both Indian River county, and Volusia county as an enviromental planner in the 80’s and 90’s…
She worked with Diane Barile at the Marine Recources Council, and later worked with Dr. Broussard on the scub land trust trying (unsuccesfully) to secure meaningfull plots of Scrub Jay habitat in the area… including the Canova scrub…
which is now a (lovely) subdivision …
The stories she tells me about some peoples attitudes toward conservation (and conservationists) makes it easy to see why some would throw their hands in the air and give up…
So thanks for hanging in there… I will do my best to come out and support the cause,
I am also an avid (but not really accomplished) photographer so there are plenty of events planned that are of interest to me…
It would also be cool to meet some fellow Swaylockians in person…
Ha, Ha, I thought they were mermaids…
I would never give up on protecting our natural beaches and reefs.
But this post was supposed to be about shaping demos lol. Please come check out the ORB Fest and tell your friends - when people learn about our dynamic living beaches and reefs they feel more inclined to protect them.
and on the lower tier of surfrider/swaylocks participants, you can stop by the surfrider tent compound where I’ll be hanging out being overly nice to people. did I mention beers?
