Wow… Kind of like Endless Summer I at Cape St. Francis in South Africa. I would need a week to recoup after riding one of those waves. It is great to see great waves at a pro contest!
Wow again! Mahalo for the share.

I’ve kind of checked out of any interest in pro surfing a couple of decades ago but I clicked on the link and… wow! that is a pretty amazing wave with some pretty incredible surfing. I kind of got into it and my kids were amped. We followed it over a few days and I could almost understand being that good at something and being paid to have people watch you do it. But did anyone other than me think that the end was decided in kind of dribbly, inconsistent, on-shore slop. (well maybe not slop-better than 99% of days out my front door) I just imagined the sponsors saying this is costing us x$ per day -how many more t-shirts or poorly fitting pants are we really going to sell - lets just get it over with. I don’t mean to be such a grump. I really appreciate being able to see such an amazing wave and such incredibly skilled surfers “live” over the internet a half a world away- for free. But I would have just liked to seen it finished off with the energy it started with.
I don’t have much interest in pro surfing either. Although I’ll usually pull for a Yank. Glad they’re making some money at it,too. I do like to watch incredibly gifted surfers ripping incredible surf. I just turn off the sound and watch it. What a wave. Thanks for putting it up. Mike
One thing about it though…the other day I finally tuned in and hit one of the archived heat vids. After a bit I left it running and went to piss. Came back and had a deja vu moment. “Identical wave, identical move followed by identical move…”
Would love to surf there myself but would love to see a bit more variety in approach… High skill level to be sure; but kinda borrrrrrring to me to watch.
perfect stubbie wave!
This is my second year watching the WCT over the internet, and I’m definately hoping the broadcast quality of the picture will improve to High Definition soon. It makes all the sense in the world right now to hook a PC up to a good Television Display and start scouring the internet for as many broadcast shows as one is poossible to find. I think this is great because now we can get away from feudalistic system set up by the programers of the television industry and now and in the future we can really get television by people truely interested in what ever its going to be that they are going to show us. Everyone personally televising, now that is true freedom, to hell with some networks! just the evil ones! I can’t wait to watch, “American Shaper” and “West Coast Shapers” over the internet.
