30 YEARS OF FLAME: CALIFORNIA’S LEGENDARY SURF PHOTOGRAPHER
For more than three decades, his images brought the pages of this very magazine to life. Now, they’re available to you in one comprehensive volume. But 30 Years of Flame is not just another thick, glossy coffee-table book with beautiful photos; it’s the story of a man who single-handedly changed the face of surf imagery with a passionate, tireless pursuit of perfection. Larry “Flame” Moore, SURFING Magazine’s photo editor and driving force since the early ’70s, added red-hot color to our watery world. And thanks to the insightful, well-researched storytelling of author Nick Carroll, we now get to read all about the man behind the photo credit. From his early days in the dark room to his world travels with Paul Heussenstamm, from barking orders in the SURFING crow’s nest to his magnum opus – the Cortes Bank unveiling – Flame has never strayed from his mission: bringing the brightest, freshest form of stoke possible to the masses. 30 Years of Flame is a must-have for anyone who’s ever even thumbed through the pages of this publication. It’s also for anyone interested in excellence, perseverance and one remarkable human being.
