Rob Brown?

Rob… where have you been? Hows the flextail project going? Ive missed reading your posts!

Rob moved from Washington State to Southern California last week…He is working for a major surfboard manufacturer… I hope he gets back to Swaylock’s soon… Paul Jensen

What company?

…I bet it’s Robert August.Herb

Waterman’s Guild

Is it permanent? Will he be returning? We’ll miss him up here!

He had to go 'cause you guys didn’t buy enough surfboards…bummer no? He had one of the best web sites I’ve seen. Your loss, our gain…

Every step in the board building process has a difficulty. For myself the major problem has always been swirl marks. I have received advice and instruction from autobody workers and pro glassers. All to no avail. Along comes Rob with his cut the sand paper with angles as opposed to in circles and my long standing difficulty disappears. Thanks Rob!!! Take care and have fun.Patrick

Yea I miss Rob too…along with Tom Sterne…Noodle.etc.Maybe its all in the archives but we gotta keep it flowing for the beginners out there.Seems to me that lately the subjects have had more to do with the “industry” rather than do it yourself stuff.Hats of to the kids that are trying.Small localized board building operations are exploding all over the place. The “industry” doesn’t like it one bit.Now that Rob is with a big glass shop he may have to chill out on revealing tips for do it yourselfers.Just a thought. R.B.

Hey guys i’m out here just been busy setting up at the Watermans Guild. They have a bay for me to use and Greg is such a great glasser it will only help me reach my goal… Shaping for a living… I needed to make more money then i was… Washington is my home and always will be after 11 years and my Girls living there it’s home… But like so many fisherman who live in westport we must go other places to make a living… I have made full circle back to my roots and my love surfing… I will be getting back on Swaylocks more as i have time but till then i’m busy shaping and surfing… What a life… http://www.surfnwsc.com
