I am building a copy (as close as I can get) to a Skip Frye 11 -2 section connector and am looing for any description / measurements of the rocker. The Template I have. Any help would be appreciated.
Rocker? Rocker? Skip don’t use no stinking Rocker.
order a clark blank with the skip fry rocker which is probably in the rocker catalogue
A 10 footer I just measured has 3 1/2" (tail), 4 1/2" (nose) with 1 1/4" belly at the middle. When viewed from the side, the rocker appears to be flatter… just one continuous subtle curve.
I refer you to the rocker proportion thread to see how you might scale it up to an 11’2" length.
Please PM me with any other questions.
I have an 11’3" Skip that your are welcome to come and check out. I am in Santa Cruz. I will try and get some photos of the profile/rocker for you.
Seriously, skip uses very little rocker…but those things cutback like no other board. I used to have an 11’1’’ and a 9’2’’ egg type. Really nice.
Yeah, a visit would be great.
Unfortunately I am in St. Petersburg on the west coast of Florida anticipating a good ass whooping from Wilma.
Is there any chance you could do a few measurements for me and give me a little guidance on the shape.
I’ll try and put a tape on it and take some photos this week. Been a tad busy. Cheers
Steiny, if you stop by this coming weekend we can take the rocker numbers off that Skip. If you can talk Paul into letting you that is. I need to take some templets off some of my boards and we can work that out together.
I was down in San Diego over the weekend and stopped by a shop that had a 11 foot used Skip Fry that was water tight, but did have some repairs, are you ready for this they wanted $1200 for the used board. Little AL
