I predict this “NeverWet” spray coating will change the nature of sufwear(wetsuits) and other surf equipment.

I can’t wait to get a can of this stuff myself and spray the bottom of my Griifin 5 fin or Alexander Gemini or PlusOne Assym and go for a test run

anyone live near Lancaster, PA?

it repels water/liquids and prevents bacteria and corrosion from starting

permanently clean boat/tanker bottoms promoting better fuel efficiency are here to stay

Video Demo of it hydrophyllic nature here:

that is some crazy stuff. i dont know if it would work but im willing to try it.

I want some for my car windows to make ice scraping just a bad memory.

Very impressive stuff.  So I guess you could plunge your toilet per the video and then immediately lick the plunger? If they really believe in their product, that’s the demo I want to see.  Seriously though, amazing stuff!

What about just spraying taped up channels in the bottom of your board instead of cut channels? If it repels water like that while submerged, couldn’t you make water channels in a sense?

been using the same stuff for awhile now.

it has it's +s, and -s, for surf use.

wetsuits ?

i'll have to try that.

i also have auto fuel and block treatments that work just like the fab. spray, only syn.oil based .

as well as a spray lube for just about anything metal. i can tighten down my bearings/wheels on my skaters.........i mean cranked down and they will spin better than anything you got with loose tolerances on the bearings.

also, faster lockup times on semi autos.

nothing else comes close.

amazing stuff.

Too late, someone already thought of it.

Jiffylube put something like that on my windshield a few years ago.  I could drive through a driving rain without wipers.  Lasted a couple of weeks.  The wetsuit idea sounds interesting.  Is it dangerous?  Mike

Looks very promissing!

Looks like its a mixture of polymer adhesive (silicone resin) and 50-100nm particles. And probably other bits'n'bobs

Here is the link to pattent application: http://www.google.com/patents?hl=en&lr=&vid=USPATAPP12815535&id=nqnnAAAAEBAJ&oi=fnd&dq=vinod+sikka+hydrophobic+coatings&printsec=abstract#v=onepage&q&f=false

Should also keep the grime of the boards as well I would think!

yup I bought a case of that windshield treatment stuff a year or so to try out.

didn’t seem to make much of a differnce on the boards or on the windshields

I think getting the surface perferctly clean prioir to application is the key

I’ve also tried RainX

but the cleaner that Surfco used to sell in these little packets used to be the best.

i’m gonna try this surf nano stuff cause i like the idea it keeps the bottoms from picking up excess wax and dirt over time

nothing like a clean bottom
