Are you asking permission or is this a warning? Roy’s great, but I’d trade 10 Roy Stewarts for one Bonta!

while I did find Roy’s post both insightful and a little confrontational, many of the problems (as I saw it) were people needlessly provoking and people over reacting.
Me? Ive never had a problem with Roy… I actaully though he was a great contributer and inspired me to try building a hollow…
I think if roy comes back and you don’t like what hes saying… don’t respond! thats how the problems start…
however that is just my opinion and its up to Mike and mods but I’m shore the’ll make the right choice.

I (Bonta, myself) do truly hope Roy comes back too! I always enjoyed his total domination of the woodenly boards! His words were really good and appealingly incendiary.

I don’t think that Roy contributes to this forum in a positive manner. His contributions are more in the POSITIVE style that Ambrose Bierce describes in his Devils Dictionary thus; POSITIVE,adj. Mistaken at the top of one’s voice. I vote no.
I think it would be very Swaylockian to accept an extended olive branch at this time of year.
Certainly its not up to me, but my vote would be no.
He is a ‘great distraction’ and is not easily disciplined (re: Dragon).
Its a head banging experience to engage in argument , rhetoric and banter
about physics(or any other subject) coming from someone who is just out to win an argument , considers himself
an iconoclast(…as in bashing anyone who doesnt think like him) and hasnt even completed a Univerity 3-sequence Physics Curiculum(and needs to).
Furthermore, I do believe that the most offending thread ‘Roy goes faster than any human being on Earth’ was replicated
on SurferMag.com after he was out of here.

I most certainly defer to the powers that be. I think they’ve done a fine job so far, and think of Swaylocks as perhaps the best resource web site of any kind that I know of.
Naturally I vote for Roy to be allowed to return. I think he has been greatly misunderstood and that some people should simply not interact with him so that the rest who would like to hear from him can do so without it being turned into a flame war anytime he posts. I would hope that Roy would also avoid interacting with certain people too, when he feels it might turn ugly or simply get too drawn-out.

I enjoyed reading roy’s posts and I think he should be allowed back on here on few conditions i.e. realizing that surfing is all about “different strokes for different folks”, his wooden surfboards were works of art, and i appreciated his advice, but i think that if he made an honest effort not to be so stubborn, then his prescense(sp?) would be much more welcome. just my two cents…
I was reading through the archives doing some research on vee (normal + reverse) vs concaves and TE just kept interjecting in every post about the Fat Penguin (oops… I just said a dirty word). No matter what the topic, TE just twisted it around to give him another post in which to push the FP.
Now, I enjoyed some of Roy’s posts & appreciated his board construction (although not the design), but his posts were often extremely argumentative and at times unrelated (like TE’s). He managed to absolutely piss off some of the people on Swaylocks that contribute the most, so I was glad to see him banned for the greater good of Swaylocks. Also I’m not sure if a leopard can really change his spots…
By the way, this is up to mods and should be dealt with between the mods and Roy. Dragon (or Roy), are you trying to sway the mods by gauging the forum members sentiment or what??? geeeeezz!!!

I don’t think too many of us here are short on opinions, but I will leave it to the powers at be. Maybe consider a first ban with a time limit and after that for good. Kind of like suspension and then expulsion.
Of couse that would be like High School.
