Was looking for a quick duration on RR hardeners. I’ve used the slow but was looking for approx working times, and flip times on the others that are offered.
Thanks,

Hey Herb,
The fast hardener starts to kick in about 20 minutes when you working in a controled 70 to 75 degree environment. One must reolize that epoxy generates heat during the curing process. The activity is accelerated by leaving the stuff in the pot.
Unlike working with Polyester, working with epoxy is a very temperature process, so it take some getting used to. Each resin has its place in the surfcraft picture.

Slow, which you’ve used, is a 50 minute pot life with a 4-6 hour flip time. Fast is half that for both pot life and flip times. Ambient temperature is VERY important in this and can change these times dramatically. Pot life for all epoxies are figured on 100 ml at 77¼F. So at higher temperatures and/or larger batch sizes this will be shorter. Extra Slow has a 200 minute pot life with a set time of 12-16 hours. This isn’t really for boards although there is no reason it couldn’t be used. It has the same UV and flex characteristics as the other hardeners. Generally boat builders use this for hull laminates.
