I looked back at my local surfboard manufacturers from the 50’s and some used printed Aluminium stickers and I like it.

It was Scott Dillon who started using those alloy logos , when he was still at Bondi.

Thanks for that Kayu, Ive seen a few boards that still have the sticker on them and they still have shine and the artwork is very much of that era. Stickers make sense if you’re making a range of products from boards to SUP paddles or even fins.

I’ve got an old ACME surfboard with an aluminum lam probably an early to mid sixties. If you make a lam with rice paper and ink try spraying it with a little hair spray and let dry before glassing. That usually will keep it from bleeding.

…that’s a neat trick . Do they actually still make hairspray ?
