rubbing alcohol

What is the Australian equivalent of rubbing alcohol, as used in your ears?

Isopropyl Alcohol. I add a little vineagar to the mix to increase the germ killing effect…

I use a 4/1 mix of isoprop alcohol/vinegar, with a dash of Arm and Hammer baking soda, religiously after all water activities. Consider this to mean daily. It works for me.

Yeah but what’s it’s commercial name in Australia?

bro, just go to the chemist or Wooly’s and ask for Rubbing Alcohol (Isopropyl) and they will hand it to you, then you can read the label and get the brand name. They knew when I asked for it there, no wuckin’ furries, and I’m a Seppo…

AQUA EAR Hope this helps clear up any confusion.David.

methylated spirits 70% is what we use in the hospital here in NZ. I add a pinch of boric acid (also available at the Chemist)instead of vinegar. Lowers the pH, makes it unpleasant for some common bugs. I used to use it religiously and still do occasionally. I’ve surfed and swam competitively since I was 7. Diagnosed with exostosis at 16 surgery at 46 - not f…ing pleasant. Use ear plugs. There is not much of a down side to keeping the water out. I’ve used lots of differnt sorts. Lost many sets of docs pro plugs. Blu Tack (the stuff you use to stick posters on walls)works well and cheap. Sticks to skin -keeps water out - simple. All the 40 sometings around here use it. None of us can hear each other though. Lots of smiling and nodding going on. Hope you can stay away from the drill.

blu tac …the stuff really does it…no dramas with stickin stuff in your ear after your surf…

Down here in Georgia we use Wild Turkey. If your ear still hurts just drink the bottle and you will feel just fine.

cleanlines i have got a Gretsch guitar from Savannah…drink dee wild turkey and play some guitar lines, then go surfin…
