This coming Saturday 10/23/10 S H F is turning the parking lot over to the Longboard Collectors Club. Always interesting things to see/buy/sell there. I'll be there with a few boards. Hope to see some of you.
I heard from a little bird, SHF's collection is starting to get out of hand and they might have a few boards for sale on Saturday.....

I've not heard that, but it seems logical. I had more than one conversation with Tom Pezman, about the depth of the collection. If you've got six or eight Lopez boards, keep the top three or four, and sell the others. I know they have reduced redundant stock in the past. Makes sense, eh? There may be some real gems available.
Bill-------- Thanks for posting this up. I emailed Barry and suggested he post an announcement here at Sways. Glad you did it! The Longboard Club has always got the deals and the goods. I'll be down there with at least one old board and a few blanks. If any of you guys are looking for some cheap blanks PM me here and I will try to bring down something you can use. Kensurf PM me if you need something.
Bumping up, as a reminder. I hope to see some of you there.
Was a good day. Drizzling showers thru LA and Orange. But clear in SC. Familar faces and a good Aloha vibe. Bit of a Swapmeet. The Foundation was open for veiwng. Matt Warshaw was signing and selling his new book "The History Of Surfing". Ate an early "Slam" at the infamous San Clemente Dennys. Was able to find a spot for my pickup load of blanks in the upper lot. Sold a few, spent some doe-re-mi on one of Matt's books, rolled up and headed North. Stopped in Westminster at FoamEZ and Aloha Glass. Got a plate of Teri and Shrimp at a local joint around the corner. Yeah, it was a good day.
Glad to hear, sorry I couldn't make it. I have Matt's Surfing Encyclopedia, one of the best written books on the subject of surfing I've ever read. Incredible wealth of back-story and whatever-happened-to..., keep it in my throne room, chock full of interesting stuff.
BTW, if anyone got photos, for those of us who didn't make it, be real appreciated! Bet there was some eye-candy there!
