“how come everyone looks so old?”

Sheesh Bernie… some of us ARE pretty old!

you share plenty, brah!

always right place, right time!

the groms (The Infamous Mira Mesa Boys {and girls!}) couldn’t make it this year. Family stuff. They should be up there this weekend if anyone needs an energy boost

we saw lots of interesting stuff - big fires:

lots of seals (had resinhead been here first with his club or were they just sleepy?):

a wild and dangerous racoon raided our camp one night and ate some cake that John left out:

there was also some nice sunny weather:

but sometimes it was cloudier (good for hiking):

up some hills:

then back to camp:

where the captured racoon was forced to Party! (with LeeV of course!)

see ya’ll next year!!!

That racoon looks like a baby seal…But i’ll let that one slide. Is that Zippy all disenchanted and drunk looking?

Those seals look ripe for bashing. Next year I’ll bring my 4x4, sling shot, and a case of KY jelly. Well show those seals who’s the boss.

I got news for yah. Those are not raccoons. They’re Big Sur wolves. Hunt in packs of up to 100 and very very dangerous.

Also, thank you to whoever donated the Tod Sutz(Tod?) surfboard shaped from Warvel Surf Cores. I traded with the wheeler-deeler for this beautiful little board. However, I’m a bit too old to ride it and am willing to sell it to somebody from the Sways community that lives in the Monterey Bay area. All proceeds go to Swaylocks.com. It’s a six foot, 18.5, 2 1/8 inches thick. I do not know how to post photos(photobucket didn’t work, either). PM me if you have an offer or if you need more information. Mike

Hey Tyler

someone mentioned a tool to measure your blank with , nose , tail center before you cut your blank . foam ez has an ez square listed ,is that what you guys are using? someone mentioned the name and it sounded kinda greek or cool , pleskalunas or some weird name like that . it is some type of template similiar to the foam ez square or it might be that foam ez square

                     thanks james

Hi James,

Stan Pleskunas makes a variety of shaping items. All of them very useful. The clear plastic measuring square is PERFECT. It makes aligning your fin placement a snap. Plus measuring nose and tail widths etc… I’d recommend contacting Pierpontscott for detailed info. He carries a lot of Pleskunas shaping materials like the rasp, calipers, plastic square and so on. Scott’s a regular on Swaylocks.

Good to meet you and your son at SA2008. If you’re ever in Ventucky give me a call. PM me for info.

Marc
