Since Scott Bass has announced the dates for the next Sacred Craft, I thought I’d look into Plaskett Creek reservations. Sheesh, they book earlier and earlier.
The only weekends currently available are June 20-23 or Oct 17-20 (and beyond.) Mid-week is pretty much wide open for all time periods.
I’m good with midweek but kids are in school, etc. On the other side of the coin, I know what a pain it is to negotiate traffic on any Friday so maybe mid-week is preferable?
My vote is the Oct weekend, as I have it down to a 14.735 hour run, and I’ll stay on the wagon so I can remember the vintage super 8 movies this time, and maybe even surf… should the shoulder stay healthy.
TaylorO - from Oregon, and please, if anyones comes from farther away… don’t say so, I need to win aother of John’s sweet tees!
October usually has more swell and better weather. The nights will be a bit cooler. There is always the chance of an October shower, although they are usually light. June gloom starts in May and last until late August around here. There are always a few warm days. If it isn’t foggy that means the wind has probably really kicked up. I don’t know if Plaskett is protected from Spring type winds or know if any wind swell spots are nearby. I like October. Mike
So, if I come over from Australia I'll get a tshirt. cool! Can someone post a map.
If you go on Google maps and get driving directions, there’s an “avoid highways” option. You know, for long-distance bicyclists & people like you who want to take the long way
