I’m in the process of putting a resin leash loop on one of my boards. I’ve only done minor ding repair before so I don’t have very much experience with sanding to a proper smoothness/gloss. Does anyone have any tips on how to get the look of the resin that I added for the leash loop back to the normal gloss of the board? I’ve been sanding it down for a while and I plan on getting a finer grit sandpaper to wetsand later on. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks, Garrett.
2 ways…
Either keep it foreever wet or…gloss it.
How do I go about glossing it? (Please keep in mind that I don’t have much experience with this at all)…thanks
You could sand it down to 220 or 320 then spray it with clear acrylic paint. Don’t like the finish, sand off the paint and gloss it. Mike
I gather you already have some resin laying around.
Just brush some on, after you catalyst it.
Block sand the loop carefully with small block and spray with Casting Craft resin spray.
Thankyou all for the quick responses. I’ll try several things and see what works best.-GMC
